Bride's Box - JS Gouache - Helen Jeglic, MDA

The design elements on this bride's box were adapted from several antique bride's boxes that are now in museum collections. In style and technique, this is a reproduction which would be very much at home in a traditional setting.

The inscription in German "Mein Herz allein soll Dir ergeben sein" means: "My heart shall be devoted only to you". 

Allthough the decoration on most bride's boxes included a romatic sentiment, this could be omitted and names and a date could be substituted.

A suitable alphabet and 2 photographs are included.
